The Stop Shuler Thesis — PROVEN!
As you may know, we are concerned that if Heath Shuler returns to DC that his stench of failure will rub off the Redskins just as they are starting to get good.
On Monday night, the Redskins somehow found a way to lose to the Vikings at home. We originally blamed the loss on a lack of pass rush and the offense’s inability to convert in the red zone. It turns out there was another, more nefarious reason behind the loss.
Guess who was on his way to Washington as the Redskins were losing? That’s right — Heath Shuler! Thanks to the hero "SDdrywall" who made us aware of the problem in a comment (also read story here). Turns out Heath was in PG County shooting skeet mere hours after the defeat!
This is getting serious, everyone. Please, Stop Shuler.

Finally — we have an issue that matters in this damned race! (The TV ads alone are killing us — be thankful you don’t live here — it ruins Desparate Housewives for me every Sunday night. Scores of people will probably NOT vote, just to protest the disgusting attack commercials.)

“I know this election is particularly ugly because Charles Taylor, a 16-year veteran of Congress who has brawled his way through eight elections, called a press conference Friday to complain about the latest Shuler ad, the one referring to the amnesty vote. Taylor says not only that the ads are false, but also sloppily researched.
“What you have in this campaign is a candidate who doesn’t have a clue,” Taylor said Friday in his downtown office.

“The interview with Taylor was more fun. He went on at length on some of his favorite themes — Shuler being beholden to liberal Democrats, Shuler not voting in a lot of elections, Shuler not really being a North Carolinian (even though he graduated from high school in Swain County).
Taylor hit his stride talking about the overall tone of Shuler’s advertising: “I use this as an example — He’ll say, ‘Charles Taylor assaulted your sister,’ and if you don’t like that, ‘Well, Charles Taylor thinks your sister’s too ugly to be assaulted.’”
