Shout-out to our homies at the W-S-J

Wsj_image The Wall Street Journal has always seemed to us to be the paper that every VP in a company has a subscription to just to look smart, even though they never read it.

That being said, they have a blog (really) on politics, and have come up with some insightful analysis on Shuler’s campaign.

First, they note that he is not getting any contributions from former teammates in the NFL. They also specifically mention that Peyton Manning, who followed him at Tennessee (and who has been a wee bit more successful in the NFL, don’t you think?) hasn’t contributed anything. This comes as no surprise to us, as we can’t imagine Heath made a whole lot of friends in his brief stint in the league. We checked the list as well, and noticed that neither Gus Frerrote or Norv Turner is on his contribution list (and that his real name is "Joseph Heath Shuler").

More importantly, the article specifically mentions Shuler’s failed NFL career, something other media outlets tend to ignore. In fact, they say:

Shuler’s last stay in Washington ended badly, a point made regularly at www.stopshuler.com.
(“We simply are Redskins fans and we love the city of Washington. And
quite frankly, both are better off since Heath left town, and we don’t
want him back.”)

Bravo, Wall Street Journal. Bravo. We may need to get a subscription as well — it wouldn’t hurt any of us to look smart.

Your logic is dumb. Its all in the past.
    Don’t you know already?
Any dummy could run for political office.
Exhibit A is every member of congress on both sides of the aisle

Settle down there jojo, as a Cowboys fan I find the site and the commentary quite humorous. (In this post specifically I love the part about the VPs wanting to look smart, so true, so true….)

As a Bengals fan I know well the pain of watching a bad team for years. I also know the pain of watching our young people and other innocent people dying in Irag and the Middle East. I know nothing of either candidates’s political positons, but to compare having qualified people in Congress to anything having to do with a sporting game is disgusting.

Maybe you are focusing on the wrong guy. Yes, Shuler’s NFL career was a disapointment. He obviously needed more time in college. But Norv Turner is the source of the failure you detest. Turner has failed everywhere, after taking such credit for the success of the Cowboys. Maybe the Cowboys were successful in spite of Turner?

    Jason Woodmansee,
Worry about CA and leave NC to be settled in NC; Blame yourself that would suffice

Havn’t had time to check your site lately. My bad!
Good to see you back at it!
    Gooooooooo Taylor.
My wife is really pissing me off w/ all her quips about how cute Shuler is. What a way to decide how to vote!! (But PS: she would vote for Clay-freaking-Aiken if he were running)
Time for a drink or twelve.
    Your fan,

  • Hilarious stuff. Can’t believe Heath isn’t his first name. He could have been much more successful as Joe Shuler. Teams don’t naturally follow a “Heath.” Joe is a quarterback name (Namath, Montana, Theismann). Heath is the name of the kid who got beat up during recess and took home-ec class instead of wood shop.

Huh?  I thought this was some joke but apparently not.  It’s a pretty desperate thing when you base a persons ability to run for higher office on their athletic ability.
Dude, wake up – Republicans suck.  They lie, cheat, and will do everything and anything to attempt to win.  This silly website is a perfect example.  Why don’t you worry less about who (or who isn’t ) on Heaths donor list and worry about the actual issues instead of making Heath the issue.  Only time people do that is when the guy they support sucks!  It’s called slinging mud jackass.
